You're training your dog, which means you're either trying to teach good habits, or unteach all the bad habits your dog has learned. When we get wrapped up into the daily lives with our dogs, it can be common to not acknowledge any achievements you have made for yourself and for your dog. The reason being is we set the goalpost at the hundred yard line and we started at the other end of the field on the goal line.
Dogs and humans alike love achieving tasks, and reaching goals. When you achieve a task, there is nothing better than checking that box off your list, or adding that new achievement to your repertoire. I want you to set a realistic one week goal for you and your dog, and write it down below. If you don’t write it, you won’t do it because there is no one to hold you accountable. In a week, let’s check back in with ourselves and see how we did. My goal with my pack is a simple one, and will only take a few hours to complete. The problem that I have, like most, is making sure that I set the designated time aside to achieve my goals, and I will because I have you all to keep me accountable. My goal this week is to get my dog’s around my horses and work on three separate commands with them. First place, and have my dogs hold place while I mess around with the horses and goats. Second heel, and test my dogs ability to heel while I walk the horse, something we have never done before. Lastly, their free command while the horses are out. Remember, even though we put our dog’s in “free”, that doesn’t mean there aren’t any rules. I need to make sure my dogs maintain a calm state of mind around the horse, and be respectful of space. Let’s hear yours below ⬇️

Love this post! My goal for this week is to provide structure on walks and to have my dog walk past another dog at 5 meters distance without lunging/barking.

Hello everybody .. ...Being a career woman at the same time acting as a housewife feels very uneasy.... So a few years ago I was thinking of keeping dogs at home as my 8-year-old daughter Kylie's friend. The dog that we named Bizzie I really wished could be Kylie's playmate and look after him when I wasn't at home. Of course, that hope can easily be achieved since I applied the Brain Training for Dogs training method. Bizzie became very protective of Kylie and really took care of anything dangerous. Since then I have become calmer when I have to leave Kylie for overtime at the office. From that moment on I suggested all my friends use this method.

My goal is to work on my dogs heel and we're also currently working on self regulating his feeding. He's a bear to feed and we've made him a picky eater by adding things to his food!

Love it. My goal is to work a certain little Terrier through passing our local construction site - without him falling apart.

My goal is to have the new pup comfortable in the backpack. Will start by just letting her sit in it and give her treats and praise.

We're working on off leash recall, especially around other dogs.

This one is tough for us as well. Our Dexter recalls.beautifully when no other dogs are around- even in public places like when swimming at the lake. But when other dogs come over to visit, it’s like he’s never had a day of training. I’m curious about your progress this week with your dog.

Thanks for this motivation! We are working on integrating our two dogs. The 6 yo chihuahua doesn’t care to play with the exuberant 1.5 year old lab! We need to give daily interaction with lab restrained on leash in room together. They want to love each other and be together but lab just won’t give up trying to play! I need to focus more on their integration.

My goal this week is to work on place. We need to get to where she can go to place on command and stay until released.

My goal is to work on doing outdoor mental exercise experiences with our very distractable sheltie, Gracie. Indoors she does great but outside is a different story. She has shown improvement, but needs lots more practice.

The best thing about this blog is that it's not just for pet lovers, but specifically for dog lovers. I've learned a lot about dogs from this blog, like the different ways to train them and how much it can cost to train a dog. But even more importantly, I've learned about the bond between dogs and their owners. It's truly special!

I still remember the day I adopted Bella, my spirited German Shepherd. Her playful nature was a joy, but her lack of training soon became challenging. She would jump on guests, pull on the leash, and bark incessantly at the slightest noise.
